This is Knockaloe
Farm, just south of Peel. From 1914 until 1919 there was a huge internment
camp established here by the British Government where 'enemy aliens' were
imprisoned during WW1. Eventually nearly 24,000 prisoners were held here
and the camp was served by its own railway branch line. There's
